Why Would We Recommend Oral Surgery?

We know that nobody wants to hear that they need oral surgery. At our Round Rock, TX dental office, we will usually explore the most conservative options first. In some circumstances, however, oral surgery is simply the most appropriate option.

Surgery can conjure up some scary images, but the truth is that most oral surgery procedures are fairly quick and even routine. We’ll take every possible precaution to make sure that you are comfortable before, during, and after your procedure. If you are feeling stress or anxiety, let us know. We are happy to discuss our sedation dentistry options with you.

For your comfort and convenience, we can perform a range of oral surgery procedures right here in our Round Rock dental office, including:

  • Extractions – Tooth removal may be recommended if a tooth is infected or broken in such as way that makes other treatment unlikely to be successful. We may also recommend extraction prior to orthodontic treatment or in preparation for dentures.
  • Dental implant placement – Both of our dentists at Old Settlers Dental are skilled and experienced when it comes to placing dental implants. This high-tech tooth replacement option is the gold standard and helps to maintain the health of your periodontal bone.
  • Bone graft surgery – In some cases, a dental implant may be warranted but the bone tissue isn’t strong enough to support the implant. Using state-of-the-art bone grafting techniques, we can build up your bone tissue so that dental implants become an option for you once again.
