Bridges in Round Rock, TX
It’s hard to feel positive about the way you look when you have missing teeth. You may feel self-conscious because you feel that everyone notices the gap when you open your mouth to smile and speak.
If you’d like to have a missing tooth replaced but avoid treatment because of the cost, a simple restoration like a dental bridge may be the perfect option for you. We know that it can be challenging for you to choose the dental treatment that fits all your needs, including your budget. At Old Settlers Dental, we’re here to explain all your options and guide you through the process so you feel comfortable with your decision.

What are the Benefits of Dental Bridges?
- Fill the space left by a missing tooth
- Restore your tooth to full function
- Prevent movement of surrounding teeth
- Provide a long-lasting alternative to a removable partial denture
Why is it Important to Replace Missing Teeth?
Replacing a missing tooth is not just a good esthetic choice. If we don’t replace a lost tooth with some type of restoration, other oral health problems can quickly follow.
The biggest concern is improper tooth alignment; the space left by a missing tooth allows neighboring teeth to start to move out of their correct position. This movement starts off a chain reaction of events:
- Premature wearing and breakdown of tooth structure
- Fractured and chipped teeth
- Teeth grinding
- Gum disease and potential bone loss
- TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder)

What’s Involved with Getting a Bridge?
First, we start with a comprehensive exam and evaluation of your needs. At Old Settlers Dental, we offer several tooth replacement options including bridges, dental implants, and implant-supported dentures. After we have a clear understanding of your goals and expectations, we will help you decide if bridges or one of these other options is appropriate for your needs.
In most cases, we can place your new bridge in just two appointments. The process of getting a new bridge is similar to that of a new crown. During your first appointment, we will make any necessary adjustments to your teeth so that your new bridge will fit perfectly.
Next, we take dental impressions and measurements that are used to custom-craft your new bridge. In about two weeks, your finished bridge will be ready, and you can simply return to our office to have the bridge bonded into place.
A well-designed bridge is securely attached to surrounding teeth and is very stable. In some situations – especially when a bridge spans several teeth – we can increase stability by holding the bridge in place with dental implants.
