Both doctors have extensive specialized training in this area and are licensed by the state of Illinois to perform safe, effective dental sedation. To ensure your comfort, we offer:

Oral Sedation

One of our doctors will prescribe a calming medication that you take an hour prior to your appointment. This allows the medicine to work so that you will already be relaxed when you arrive at our office.

The type of medication we prescribe depends on your needs, but all have a similar effect. The pill will make you feel drowsy so that you can sit back and relax comfortably during your procedure. Because of the effects of the medication can linger for a while, you will need to bring a friend or family member who can drive you to and from your appointment.

IV Sedation

For certain types of procedures, we may recommend IV (intravenous) sedation administered by our IV sedation specialist. The medication is injected into your bloodstream, so the effects are immediate. You will fall asleep and be completely unaware of what is going on around you. IV sedation will leave you feeling somewhat drowsy immediately afterward, so you will need to bring a designated driver to your appointment.
