Oral Surgery in Round Rock, TX

The thought of having oral surgery can be stressful for anyone. We recognize that this fear can cause you to postpone or even go without necessary dental treatment.

At Old Settlers Dental, we make your complete comfort a priority. We utilize advanced dental techniques, and state-of-the-art technology helps us perform surgical dental procedures like dental implant placement and tooth extractions that are efficient and as comfortable as possible.

Supportive, Compassionate Care

The team at our Round Rock dental office strives to put you at ease, regardless of the treatment we’re providing. Our goal is to provide gentle, supportive care that helps minimize your anxious feelings.

Before we schedule your surgery, our dentists will answer your questions and explain why the procedure is necessary. Dr. Zavala and Dr. Lewcock have years of experience and are known for their gentle approach and stress-free treatment. We make sure that someone is with you to provide support and encouragement before, during, and after surgery.

Dental Implant Surgery

Placing a dental implant is a two-step process. First, we must surgically place the implant in your jaw. After the implant has had a chance to heal, we use a dental restoration like a crown, bridge, or denture to allow you to chew and speak with ease.

Dr. Zavala and Dr. Lewcock are both highly trained and skilled at placing and restoring dental implants. Since we handle both steps in the implant process, we can oversee treatment to ensure a continuity of the highest quality care available.

A dental implant needs to be surrounded by bone. If we find that you don’t have sufficient bone to support the implant, we may recommend bone graft surgery. This process replaces lost bone in the area the implant is to be placed.

Reasons for Tooth Extraction

In many cases, we perform oral surgery to extract a tooth. Aside from cases of advanced decay or infection, there are several instances where we may recommend an extraction:

Dental trauma — We may recommend extraction if a tooth is broken or fractured close to or below the gum line.

Root canal infection — Infection has extended into the root canal and cannot be removed with traditional root canal treatment.

Alignment issues — A poorly aligned tooth impacts the alignment of surrounding teeth and may need to be extracted.

Preparation for dentures — Several teeth may need to be removed in preparation for partial or complete dentures.

Your Comfort is Our Priority

We can provide the most efficient dental treatment when we know you trust us and feel comfortable with our team. To us, you are not just another number on a chart – our team will always treat you with honesty and the utmost respect for your individual needs.

Oral surgery does not have to be complicated or cause stress. We recognize your unease, however, and we provide headphones, blankets, and aromatherapy to help relieve your stress. You’ll be surprised at the difference these special touches can make!

We perform many different types of oral surgery and will be happy to discuss the best approach for you. Please contact our Round Rock dental office to arrange a dental appointment with Dr. Zavala or Dr. Lewcock.
